Buckfastleigh Town Council in partnership with Devon County Council has arranged for Flood Warden Training to take place on Saturday 24th January 2015 in the Town Hall from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The course will be delivered by the Environment Agency, the Police and the Fire and Rescue Service and will include the following:-
• Introduction to Flood Risk
• Instruction to Emergency Services
• Health and Safety and Risk Management
• Role Profile of Flood Wardens
• Sand Bags
• Safeguarding
A light lunch will be provided and we will be joined with volunteers from Ashburton and Brixham.
We would be very grateful if our existing volunteers for the Town’s Emergency Plan could contact Judith at the Town Hall on 01364 642576 or email: clerk@buckfastleigh.gov.uk to confirm whether they will be able to attend this essential training session and that they still wish to continue as a volunteer in the event of an emergency. We would also be pleased to hear from new volunteers.
