Town Hall Hire

HIRING CHARGES FOR THE TOWN HALL (Effective 1st April 2020)

Despite the Government announcement that all legal restrictions will be lifted from Monday 19th July, the Town Hall will continue to operate under its current measures for the time being. We will review regularly over the coming weeks and months and make changes to conditions of hire as appropriate. The Town Hall will continue to follow the guidance specific to Village and Community Halls. The Town Hall has been used every day (Monday to Friday)  in some way, shape or form for permitted bookings since last September, we would like to see it continue to operate safely for the protection of our staff, users, and wider community, as we move forward.

Community Groups need to know they can safely hold their usual or a version of their usual activities and what conditions apply to reduce risk and overcome concerns people may have over engaging.

All measures remain the same at the Town Hall apart from the relaxing of the one-way system, for the time being, to bring Room 3 back into use for more flexibility/space. The Rule of 6 will no longer apply but maximum capacity will remain reduced and be activity dependant. Please be aware of guidance specific to your own activity/sector when booking too.

Hands – Face – Space

Access to the Town Hall and Town Clerk Office will still be via appointment.

We will continue to accept bookings for indoor gatherings organised by a Business, Charity, or other formal organisation. Risk assessments are required for all activities. These include:

  • Formal Support Groups
  • Education Services
  • Parent and Child Groups
  • Organised Children’s activities
  • Library Services.
  • Static and active indoor exercise/Martial Arts.
  • W.I. and Senior Citizen Clubs.
  • Meetings

We will not be taking bookings for private parties, dances, disco’s or singing etc at this current time.

Please do get in touch for current conditions of hire, they will also be on our Facebook page. We will do our best to see if we can accommodate you within the measures in place and guidance safely!
