Buckfastleigh Town Council Meeting 3rd March 2021 – Key Messages

This week, we were joined in our meeting by some councillors from Okehampton  who wanted to observe our Town Council in action, having heard positive things about our innovative approach to meetings and our ability to get things done for our constituents.

1.   Town Clock – It has been established that the Town Clock has suffered badly from the weather and it would not be cost effective to repair and reinstate. We are therefore looking at the cost of a new clock in consultation with our kind host, Searles.

2.   New Town Councillor  – We are pleased to announce that the Town Councillor vacancy has now been filled by Bryony Tilsley who some of you may know from Dartmoor Skies. Bryony will be co-opted at our next meeting.

3.   Teignbridge Housing Strategy Consultation – We encourage residents to respond online to the Teignbridge Housing Strategy Consultation or by sending your views direct to us to incorporate in our own response – deadline for comments is 24th March 2021.

4.   Hello Summer – The successful and popular Hello Summer programme of activities for children for 2021/22 will now be facilitated by Be Buckfastleigh but with the continued support and funding already allocated by the Town Council.

Full minutes will be available on the website after the next Town Council Meeting.
