Connecting Dartmoor and Exmoor – New Broadband Service

The Connecting Dartmoor and Exmoor (CDE) team in partnership with Airband Community Internet are pleased to announce that following a successful testing phase, a number of residents and businesses in the following postcodes can place an order for a new broadband service: TQ11 0EA, TQ11 0EH, TQ11 0HN, TQ11 0HD, TQ11 0AA, TQ11 0AF, TQ11 0AN, TQ11 0BL, TQ11 0BS, TQ11 0EE and TQ11 0JL.

CDE are working with Airband to include more premises and others may be able to benefit from the fixed wireless network in the coming months. If a resident or business is unable to take a service via the new network at this stage and would like to receive the fixed wireless broadband service they will need to register an interest on the Airband Wholesale website to receive notification of available service in the future.

Airband Community Internet has committed to deliver fixed wireless broadband to around 5,800 premises across both National Park areas and these properties will be the primary focus of initial connections.

How to check for availability of the service

To check for access to an improved broadband service via the new network residents and businesses should input their postcode, on the Airband Wholesale website (see link below). If the service is available customers can then select an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and follow prompts to order a package that suits their needs. The ISP will handle the rest and be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time for installation.

Please help us to spread this news

The CDE team and Airband Community Internet recognise the importance of residents and businesses benefiting from this new network, therefore it is important to get the message out to as many people as possible.  We would be grateful if you could include this notification in any forthcoming newsletters to the parish. Please also get in touch if you feel there are additional means of communicating the news further.

If you have any queries please contact the CDE team by emailing: broadband@devon.gov.uk
