A gathering of designer makers, spinners, dyers, felters, weavers, breeders and all wool enthusiasts.
The event is being hosted by South Devon Wool Works, a Social enterprise supporting and encouraging a resilient wool community in Devon and beyond.
The Wool gathering will include:
- Demonstrations
- Taster sessions and exhibits from wool workers and artisans.
- Equipment (such as weaving looms, spinning wheels,carders, peg looms and felting tools etc) to try out and learn how to use.
- Carefully selected fleeces from local and organic breeds to sample and buy.
- A visioning session for the future of the South Devon Wool Works and how it can best serve your needs and requirements as a social enterprise, including how you could use and benefit from a collective workshop and wool processing space.
- A knitting circle
- An Invitation to bring current projects to work on that might need additional advice or equipment
- Delicious devonshire cream teas
- Opportunities to collaborate
- Workshops to win
The day will run as a drop in event from 10am to 4pm with a bring and share lunch for those who wish to stay for the full day.
If you are interested to offer a taster session or exhibit any of your products or work at the event we would love to hear from you! It is possible also to come and join in offering a 2 hour session without committing to a full day at the event. Most of all we would love to see you there!
