2. Devon Air Ambulance – work to the new community landing site has now been completed which will enable the Air Ambulance helicopter to safely land at any time of the day or night to assist critically ill patients. This project was funded by the Town Council together with a generous donation from Buckfast Abbey. Hello Summer 2017 – further activities are taking place which include free bouncy castle/soft play sessions and cinema matinees in the Town Hall. The Halloween event held in the park was very popular and planning for further events to take place during 2018 is already underway. Solar panels will be installed at the swimming pool in February. The next free community training session will be held on Thursday 7 December at 6.45pm focusing on ‘people, partners and funding.‘
3. The Town Council is currently working on the new budget for 2018/19. It has been suggested to rollover some projects including the further development of the youth activities programme together with activities for the elderly to promote social, health and mental well-being and look at new arts and food growing initiatives.
4. Buckfast Abbey will be celebrating its Millennium in 2018 which will attract thousands of visitors to the town. A flyer which promotes Buckfastleigh will be available to those who attend the celebration. Following the success of the Colourscape experience as part of the Sports Festival held in July, the Town Council is pleased to confirm that this will be returning to Buckfastleigh in 2018.
Full minutes will be available on the website after the next Town Council Meeting.
