An exciting opportunity to provide a part-time service for Buckfastleigh to tackle all those annoying little jobs that never seem to get done such as cleaning street signs, removing graffiti, cutting back overgrown vegetation on public land, carrying out litter picks and clearing the leaves and debris from drains. The Town Ranger will also be a key member of the Volunteer Emergency Response Team and assist with community events such as the Christmas Fair.
The Town Ranger with be provided with training as and when required, protective clothing and a variety of equipment so that a wide range of minor works can be carried out effectively and efficiently that will complement the responsibilities of other statutory authorities.
The Town Ranger will be expected to act as an ambassador to the town and the Council and will be required to work outdoors in all seasons, be self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude, be friendly and approachable, enjoy meeting and working with the public and have a good level of practical skills.
Rate of pay – £10.00 per hour
No of hours – 10 per week with occasional and weekend work as required
Holiday entitlement – 42 hours paid leave plus Bank Holidays
Pension – voluntary contribution to a workplace pension
