In July of this year Buckfastleigh and Buckfast were judged in the RHS Britain in Bloom competitions, and at the presentations at Yeovil last week the results were announced.
The huge success of those entering was a great reflection of all the hard work by individuals in the community and the ability to come together to make the town into something special. All the categories are judged on three criteria – Gardening, Environment and Community – and the judges were most impressed with the way all areas embraced these categories.
All entrants should be congratulated on their superb efforts and a special mention should be given to the British Legion entry: A first-time entry it had the spectacular achievement of coming straight in to win an outstanding award.
The results were: –
