Annual Town Council
Congratulations to Councillor Sue Clarke who was again elected as Town Mayor and Chair of Buckfastleigh Town Council with Councillor Paul Georghiades as Deputy Mayor and Chair.
Sue stressed that she is keen to represent our community and to highlight the need to have better representation and accountability at District and County levels.
Town Council Meeting
Tourism, Recreation & Community Development Committee – this committee will be reinstated shortly with an open invitation to all groups and organisations involved with tourism in the town together with local businesses and interested parties. As with all our meetings the public are very welcome and encouraged to participate.
Duckspond Rewilding Update – Gary our Town Ranger has been working hard to restore and re-wild our much loved pond on Duckspond Road. This has included de-silting to provide more depth to sustain the wildlife that live there, new natural habitats and the introduction of some native fish.
Citizens Advice Outreach – the CA weekly service at St. Luke’s which is funded by the Town Council, continues to support residents by providing advice and assistance across a broad range of topics. Members conveyed their thanks to this valuable service to the town.
