This meeting is to discuss having a parish poll with regards to raising the precept/Council tax to fund an application for increased funding from Victoria Park and Swimming Pool. The Town Council feels this matter needs to be discussed as widely as possible by members of the Buckfastleigh community, so please do come to make your views known.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Schedule 12, part 3 of the Local Government Act 1972 that a Parish Meeting will be held in the Main Hall of Buckfastleigh Town Hall, Bossell Road, Buckfastleigh on
Wednesday 28th September 2022 at 7.00pm
Please note that this Parish Meeting is open to all, but only registered electors for the Parish of Buckfastleigh are permitted to speak/vote at the meeting. Members of the public who are not registered electors for the parish may speak only at the discretion of the meeting.
AGENDA
- Apologies for Absence. To receive apologies from Councillors unable to attend.
- To receive a proposal from a representative of the electorate at the meeting for a poll to be called with regards to:-
Buckfastleigh Town Council raising the precept (which forms part of the total Council Tax for Buckfastleigh) from 2023/24 to fund a perennial grant application submitted by Victoria Park and Swimming Pool for £65,000 per annum (including an annual inflationary increase) for a period of four years
- To vote on the question which is to be put in the poll. Each government elector present may give one vote and no more on any question.
