New Councillor – At our March meeting we were pleased to welcome newly co-opted Town Councillor Joanna De Groot-Marzec who is also the Chair of the Christmas Fair Committee.
Emergency Planning – We welcomed Niki Warner, Teignbridge District Council Emergency Planning and Business Officer. Niki congratulated the Town Council regarding our comprehensive Emergency Plan. We continue to struggle to find volunteers who would be willing to help in the event of an emergency and would welcome offers of help from anyone who has relevant experience or has a useful skill such as first aid, a licence to use a chain saw, use of a 4×4 etc. If you would like to help or for further information please contact Gary Quest, our Town Ranger email: ranger@buckfastleigh.gov.uk or contact him through his Ranger Facebook page.
Buckfastleigh Christmas Lights – The Town Council has agreed to take over the annual installation of a new and completely different display. It is hoped that local businesses will donate funds to support the Council. We would also like to take this opportunity to convey our thanks to all the volunteers who have supported this initiative over so many years.
